Nerva was chosen by the senate to become the new Emperor after the assassination of Domitan. He was the first emperor of the time known as, the time of the five good emperors. When he took the spot as emperor he was sixty-four so his reign lasted for only two years. Once he was assigned the position he immediately accomplished so much.
Accomplishments and Deeds
While Nerva ruled he repaired the Colosseum when it flooded. Also Nerva built granaries, and continued the construction and repair of more roads. He forbid the building of gold or silver statues of himself, to try to keep the empire's budget balanced. Also while trying to maintain the budget he also helped the lower class. He renamed where Domitan had lived in honor of the roman people. Instead of boasting about his wealth he decided to live in a more less showy place. Nerva took an oath saying he would never harm, or even kill any member in the senate. He released many prisoners. If there was a banishment put in by Domitan, to prisoners her didn't commit a serious crime, Nerva recalled them.

Nerva accomplished a lot of things in a two year span. He showed no greed and did things for the empire. He repaired roads he helped the lower class, and showed kindness. The senate chose him after Domitan was assasinated. Students should learn about him because he was a very good emperor, and was very interesting. He showed you can have all that wealth and power but still show no greed.
